Mam Tor is an iconic peak near Castleton in the High Peak of the Peak District National Park. Having a little venture out in the county of Derbyshire with this landscape, Mam Tor the name means “mother hill” (also know as Shivering Mountain) because of the landslides on the eastern face having resulted in so called mini hills below. It’s location means is sits on the edge of Dark Peak (gritstone) and White Peak (limestone) giving great views of places such as Winnats Pass and is also the official start of the Pennine Way. You’ll often see people paragliding around the hill top here. With this screen print I wanted to show the scars of the landslides, the rolls in the land and the changes in colour between the hill and the land around it so have this mix of organic oranges and pale yellow tones divided up by the green foliage of the trees.
