Skinningrove may seem like an odd choice of a print to some people as it’s not the obvious destination when you have so many picturesque villages and towns on the North Yorkshire coast. It’s situation in-between Staithes and Saltburn-By-The-Sea is actually how we came to visit the beach that day. During the pandemic Staithes was just so busy we went to Skinningrove on our way to Saltburn-By-The-Sea, it’s more of a working village, but the beach is quite a different prospect to it’s more well known neighbours. I love the dramatic way the land meets sea, so it was that I just drama in the landscape that had to be captured in this screen print with it’s lush green dunes.
