One of the most northerly dales of the Yorkshire Dales National Park this screen print was inspired by the walk between Keld and Muker, heading towards the latter. I love the contrast of this landscape with it’s green meadows with their old limestone barns and walls, with the moorlands and how the narrow Swaledale valley curves it’s way into the distance. Trying to capture that distance has made this print have the most amount of layers I have done to date, with six altogether and three of those are tones of green, but I think it was worth it.
